This exquisite Japanese Genmaicha tea, grown in Shizuoka Prefecture, is mixed with hulled, roasted rice, which darkens during processing, giving the brew a characteristic toasted aroma and sharpness. Typically, popular and everyday Bancha tea is used for Genmaicha blends. In this case, the base is the high-grade Sencha Ketsuro, whose leaves are shaded before harvesting, obtaining a dark jade color.
